Hi All,
I haven't posted a blog in a while so I figured I should catch everyone up. Well lets see all of the Holidays just passed and Kainoa just celebrated his 3rd birthday. Seems like just yesterday that my little peanut was born. I remember the day so vividly when I woke up in a panic and had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency c-section! Although he was 2 months early he was a healthy weight/length. He was born weigh 5 pounds and he was 17 inches long. Had I went full term I would have given birth to a toddler...haa haa! Because he was born so early his lungs were a little under developed so he was in the NICU for a little over a month. Now he's growing like it's going out of style. Kainoa had his 3 year check up and he is for sure growing like a weed! His current stats are: 41 inches tall and 42 pounds. He's in the 98 percentile for his age. The doctor confirmed what I already knew and he said that Kainoa is going to be very tall!! But considering Mike's height I knew he was going to be tall too. I know that Kainoa and Jayden are going to eat us out of house and home as they become teenages...eeeekk. We're going to have to get 2nd jobs to feed and clothe the boys...haa haa.
We didn't have a big party for Kainoa, instead we just had a small family get together w/ a cake that Grandma made...yummy! Let me back up- before Kainoa's birthday we celebrated Christmas. Let me tell you the kids received every toy under the sun so Santa was good to them this year! Because the kids received so much for the holidays Kainoa didn't really need any more toys then what he had already received. He did get a few things but for the most part he was still excited w/ all of the toys he had received for Christmas.
We took the kids on a Coaster ride to the beach. We went with Mike, Alicia & their kids, Christian, Arla & their kids and then Mike and I and the boys. It was a lot of fun and the boys really thought we were riding Thomas The Train. For those of you that don't know he's a Train that's pretty popular with 3 year olds. So I told the kids that we were riding Thomas' cousin "The Coaster". We rode it all the way to the beach and then we walked the strand and the pier. You would have never known that it was "winter" since it was 80 degrees outside. Nothing like a winter in Oceanside.
We also had another historic moment in the Davis house and that was the Presidential Inauguration. It was history in the making and it was great to share that moment- it was also great to know that when the kids get older we can tell them all about it. Every time Kainoa saw Barack on TV he would say "go Obama!"...it was pretty cute!
Well I'm going to take the easy way out so instead of posting pictures here's the link to pictures from Kainoa's 3rd birthday and our trip to the beach on the Coaster. Enjoy!
